I learned long ago never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it.
This is certainly very true...
In Cambodia pigs are very important - as a source of income - they can have several piglets with each litter which when reared can be sold for a generous profit.
Pork is the nationally preferred meat so their added value is as a food source be it sold, slaughtered and then served up in a local market or eaten for festivals and special celebrations is another use for the pig.
Cambodia, which currently imports between 2,000 pigs a day from neighbouring countries, principally Thailand, to meet domestic demand is urgently seeking to increase indigenous output through an education project which aims to improve production methods and health standards together with the use of improved stock.
The business has become so sophisticated that they are now breeding ODORLESS pigs... can you imagine an pig that has no odor? Surely that is not a pig any more...
What is the point of this posting? OINK!!!!!
She is the new MaD Mascot.... a beautiful, sweet, happy little pig!
She, we hope is destined for a happy and fulfilling life as part of the MaD Chrouk Family - she will not be eaten or sold for profit!
Currently she is finding her place in her new family... is she before Mocha or Mindy??? they all seem to have happily accepted her until dinner time when all the animal's instincts kick in and there is a frenzy aggressive attitude!
Whilst Oink is the smallest - just about - Mindy and her are on par at the moment, Oink will soon be packing on the Kgs and becoming a true porker... how long it will be that we can all watch and admire her delightful daintiness, as she waltzes around the house as a ballerina????
For now she is happy and we are glad to have her as part of our family... long may it last!
Two pigs robbed a bank. Why were they caught so quickly? They squealed on each other!
